The broadside is a piece of Americana. The history is rich. So when I had the opportunity to print large on a Reflex flatbed press I wanted to capture the essence of an old baseball advertising poster. But, not just any poster. While researching my grandfather’s semipro baseball career I came across a full page ad for a California State League Championship 1928. Smack there in the middle of the page was an image of my grandfather. I had seen the image as a clipping in a family scrapbook. This clipping allowed me to scan an image close to first generation halftone. The rough halftone gave the print a unique image. This poster was inspired by the Hatch Show Poster Triple Johnnie.
